Introduction from Headteacher

Our school is celebrating its 450th anniversary this year.   We are a school which has reason to be proud of its history and its record of success.

Mrs S O'Farrell, Headteacher

Our school is a progressive one with traditional values in school and our core values are based on promoting good manners, respect, responsibility and care in the community.

Our academic standards are high with 70% of our students achieving 5 A* - C , 58% including maths and English at GCSE and 45% of students achieving A/B grades at A level in 2008. The school is proud of its students who demonstrate very good attitudes to their learning and who contribute to the work and life of the school in a very positive way.

Students are able to benefit from the extensive range of opportunities and the rich extra-curricular life in school.

We are proud of our many achievements and have a history of success in many aspects of our work. As an IB World School we are offering the International Baccalaureate in the 6th form in September 2008.

We have a very supportive parent body, an excellent staff, and a pro-active governing body. This school is at an exciting time in its development and aims to give pupils the best possible start in life.

Welcome to Thomas Alleyne's High School

“Thomas Alleyne’s is a good school with some outstanding features”

Ofsted Report June 2008

Thomas Alleyne’s High School is a coeducational comprehensive Community School for students aged 13-18. It is a large school – our current role as at the September 2008 is 1350 students, of whom 365 are in the Sixth Form. Most students choose to stay on into the Sixth Form at the age of sixteen. The school occupies a site between the centre of the market town of Uttoxeter and the open fields of the Dove Valley.  The school buildings are in a rich variety of styles and periods, including a Georgian house.  Grassy areas, courtyards and recreational areas link the buildings.
